Neil part 2
Here I an doing my best to get you to read - and maybe buy - my book on Neill. Where is the P.R when I need him?!!
At the end of the last millennium, when the world seemed to be busy panicking about the Y2K computer bug and the resulting end of the world, I was busy writing the final pages of a book on Neil Young. It was part of what was planned as a series of concise books on the greatest music artists by the best music writers. As it turned out, only four books in the series got published. Fortunately my book on Neil was one that survived.
Now here it is again, decades later, updated and reborn on Jack White’s Third Man imprint, one of the coolest imprints in the world.
Neil’s career didn’t stop when my original book did. Far from it. There were times when he seemed fragile, what with his health problems, but as his manager and friend Elliot Roberts told me, “People were always afraid of Neil but he was actually very frail. He’s not anymore. He’s beefed up to 165 lbs and he’s an axe murderer.”
This new edition features some uncut interviews I’ve done with my favourite axe-murderer.
